Wear and corrosion damage of the impeller can be divided into two types

One is chemical erosion. Because the slurry is acidic, it easily reacts chemically with the metal materials on the impeller, causing chemical corrosion. Secondly, the potential difference formed on the impeller surface leads to electron transfer,resulting in oxidation reactions,directly damaging the metal

The other type is physical wear:Due to the slurry containing a large amount of particulate matter such as limestone and gypsum,it directly impacts and damages the pump impeller at the pump suction inlet
